Hi. My name is Francie Jacober and I am running for Pitkin County Commissioner in western Colorado. I am deeply committed to preserving our natural environment, combatting climate change, providing equal educational opportunities throughout our county, and supporting and improving community amenities such as public bus service, affordable housing, accessible childcare, and equitable medical insurance access. I hope to equally represent the interests of all of the people in the county - including the elderly, the immigrants, children, those who need medical support, both men and women, and LGBTQ.

I have an opponent who, I believe, does not represent a forward, inclusive vision, and I need some money to make myself visible to the voters, the sooner the better. Because of COVID, the campaign process has been awkward and it is difficult to reach out to people with a door-to-door campaign as I had originally planned. I hope to run some newspaper ads, improve my website, and find other ways to get my name out before November 3. 

I would be deeply grateful to anyone interested in helping me, with even the smallest donation (maximum allowable donation is $500). I have been a teacher for 35 years and have also worked with my family in ranching and restaurant management. This is my first campaign. I was inspired by all the outreach since the 2016 election - especially to women - to encourage us to run for office and have a voice.
