Francia 'Rani' Mateo

On 24th of September, the Handford House Family suffered the loss of a wonderful, kind, beautiful and well love lady Francia ‘Rani’ Mateo. Rani joined Handford House in 2015 and worked as a Senior Carer, then in 2020 her amazing husband George also joined Handford House as a Senior Carer. Rani had unfortunately been fighting cancer for many years.

Rani was a massive part of the team, always laughing, joking, always happy, given all she was going through. Her passion for care and her job shone through everyday and her residents adored her. He smile lit up every room she entered.

Many of our staff have known Rani for many years and become friends. They continue to come to work to care for their residents but they are also grieving, so please bear with them, as it is an upsetting time for all that knew and loved Rani. We continue to support her husband George, whom of course is taking some time off.

During this difficult time, also comes financial challenges. George has taken time of work to care for her. We have started a ‘Go Fund Me’, to assist with any costs that may occur. Please if you can donate even just a little, it will certainly ease pressure for George.

We continue to reminisce and talk about Rani, remembering all the good times and she will forever be remembered at Handford House. We shall never forget such a beautiful lady.
