ALS- 3 Stem Cell IV treatments & medical expenses

Donation protected

Where do I begin... this has been a truly difficult year for our family.
My brother Francesco
Califano, son of Alfonso and Angela Califano,
and Uncle to Marco and Briella, was diagnosed with ALS, also known as Lou Gehrig’s disease,
a little
This heartbreaking news completely broke us down,
especially because it followed the death of his most
precious dog, Jovi. Nothing was ever the same after Jovi’s death,
so his diagnosis truly broke all of us,
but it especially changed Francesco’s life in each and every way.

ALS is a “progressive neurodegenerative
disease that affects nerve cells in the brain
and the spinal cord”.  Basically the nerve cells
break down causing the weakening of the
muscles in the body.  It has been so difficult to watch my brother go
through the progression of this disease. To watch someone who used to
play the guitar and the piano with such ease,
dance, go out to clubs and concerts, take Jovi on car rides, walks, and even to the beach,
to now someone who can no longer do any of that,  and so much more, without help!
This disease is taking over his body
and it is terrible to watch and so depressing
for him to go through. At this point anything
he tries, experimental or not, will give him
some kind of hope to increase his life
expectancy. He is only 44 years old and hasn’t begun to live his life to the fullest.
With this disease, that opportunity has been taken away.

Francesco is not someone who is looking for
sympathy. He actually doesn’t even know we
are doing this. We are looking to do anything we can to help
slow down the progression of this dreadful disease.
It has been a huge monetary burden thus far.
His medical expenses are out of control and they have
taken a burden on our parents.

He has been through a whole lot since the
diagnosis. From collecting disability, applying
for health insurance, waiting months for his
health insurance, which isn’t even great, and
so much more.

Francesco goes to aquatic therapy twice a
week, massage therapy and acupuncture twice a week, and he also sees a
nutrition coach to help him through this process. All of these resources
have out of pocket expenses.  We are  looking to prolong his life.   He has a loving family
that supports him and helps him in every way.
We are willing to try anything that will help
him feel a little bit better about himself and this life that he is now living.

We have researched information on IV Stem Cell and exosomes
infusions.  These infusions are very costly and experimental, but it is all he has left.
In order to see if they have helped him at all he needs
to complete three infusions.
We are willing to give it a try because we have some
hope that something will work!

Due to our current pandemic I know many of
us are struggling!
Please understand that a
ny donation is truly appreciated!
We are willing to try anything to help him through this.

Thank you!
