We are heartbroken to share the passing of Fran, a beloved mother, wife, friend, and newly qualified adult nurse. Fran had recently completed her nursing degree a remarkable achievement that reflected her strength, compassion, and determination.

Fran was more than a student; she was a source of light and encouragement to everyone around her. She worked tirelessly to reach her dream of becoming a nurse, always showing kindness, patience, and care to others. As a peer coach, she supported first-year nursing students, helping them grow in confidence and skill. She was also one of a select few chosen to take part in an exchange programme with La Trobe University in Australia a true reflection of her dedication and talent.

Alongside her studies, Fran was a devoted mother, wife, and friend who gave so much of herself to her family and community. She was involved in many groups that worked to make a positive difference in people’s lives.

Even when Fran became unwell towards the end of her final year, she remained determined to complete her nursing placement. Although Fran is now unable to attend the university graduation in November, she was able to celebrate in a small ceremony surrounded by loved ones in the hospice.

Fran’s final wish was to return home to Kenya, to be laid to rest in the country she loved so dearly.

We are raising funds to honour that wish and help take Fran home. Every donation no matter the size will go directly toward funeral and travel costs to ensure Fran can rest peacefully in her homeland.
