As you may have already learned, Fran has been dealing with medical issues since last year. She moved to Ocala in April 2020 for a new opportunity. In June of last year she was diagnosed with COVID 19. Fran has been suffering from all of the classic long haulers symptoms of this virus and has not been able to return to work.
She had been an advocate for her own health and continued to develop other symptoms for which other diagnostic testing took place. The results were devastating. Fran was diagnosed with stage 4 Glioblastoma. Subsequently, Fran had a craniotomy at Shands Hospital at UF/Gainesville.
Beginning May 14, Fran will start a very aggressive, daily chemotherapy and radiation treatment at Shands. Traveling back and forth daily is not feasible so she will need to stay in Gainesville for the duration of her treatments. As you can imagine, the medical treatments are exorbitant in addition to the cost of housing to stay in Gainesville.
Fran has given so much of herself to everyone - she would give the shirt off her back if anyone needed - friends and strangers included. Many of us have been the recipients of her generous heart. It’s our turn to take care of our friend. We are asking for donations to help offset the tremendous cost of her medical treatment and housing to keep her close to Shands. Fran has enough to worry about and we wish to help eliminate some of the worry.
For those that have donated so generously already, we thank you on behalf of our dear friend! Please continue to keep Fran in your thoughts and prayers.
