Help Fran Owsik beat Luekemia!
Tax deductible
This story is about me, Fran Owsik, who turned 65 in November and was looking forward to retirement. Unexpectedly during a routine blood test my primary Doctor found that my white blood cells were very high. After further testing with the Oncologist, they determined that I had Acute Myelomonocytic Leukemia (CMM).
I started this Go Fund Me Page to ask for help with the cost of the "after care" , which is very expensive! After surviving several treatments of chemo during the 1st phase, it is the bone marrow transplant coming up I am worried about... April 18th was the target date for that procedure to begin, but it has been delayed to to a high antibody count.
Once the bone marrow transplant happens, it will mean a month in the hospital and at least one month or two at home with a 24/7 "care giver". The cost of the care giver is the reason for this GO Fund Me Page.
Please donate whatever you can to help me get through this disease. My goal is to raise $20k . I know this is attainable with the support of the golf course industry and fellow Golf Course Superintendents, Family and Friends.
Note from the GCSANJ Foundation:
We all know and love Fran Owsik. There are not many supers in the state who have not been touched by his kindness or experienced his generosity. It is time that we give back to Fran and show him what he means to us.
The Foundation has offered to cover the first four weeks of after care, with the Wee One Foundation and GCSAA already pledging to help cover the a portion of the bill. Unfortunately, this will most likely not be enough to cover the care Fran needs.
Fran is relying on all of us for his mental, spiritual, and financial support to get him through this battle. With our help he will do just that! Please give what you are able.
Thank you!
