Hi, my name is Elena. I am raising money for my graduate project which will take the form of an exhibition called Frames of Mind. This project will explore the extent to which adopting a phenomenological approach to creating handmade media influences the experience of those viewing it.

Visitors will be able to walk through a ‘sketchbook world’ where projected handmade films and crafted models will reveal the battle between the heart vs the head. My short films, and their subsequent exhibits, will be categorised into 5 universal themes: Identity, Control, Loss, Love and Forgiveness.

I hope for this exhibition to create exposure for analogue filmmaking techniques, an art form that is incredibly beautiful and intimate, yet feels to be slipping away with the dramatic advance of AI within the film industry and our own personal lives. I hope to create a space that feels like a deep breath, inviting conversation about what it truly means to be human and to momentarily bring us all away from a busy, hyper-digitalised world.

The money raised will go entirely towards funding this project. Large expenses include: a projector, printing ink (lots of it!) and art equipment to make both the films and the exhibit models. etc.

As well as expenses to allow for the set dressing of the venue.
