Fragile Times
2020 has been a rough year for many. Finding hope was difficult, but for Jamie and Kyle, love and happiness was their shining light in these dark months.
Love came easy for the two and their lives soon became one. Kyle has been a wonderful man for my sister, seeing how happy he made her. He brought out the light in her that was dimmed by a broken heart. Watching them grow together with Jamie’s four wonderful kiddos has been something from a fairy tale. Kyle was immediately loved and cherished as a father by my nephews and niece, loving them as if they were his own. As time passed, Jamie and Kyle talked about another baby, to grow their family. When Jamie found out she was pregnant, the sparkle in her eyes was blinding. Kyle was so excited to be a father again, but this child would be his. The pregnancy started off with a few complications but nothing that they couldn’t overcome. Things took a turn for the worse however, when Jamie and Kyle received news that their baby had passed away when she was 26 weeks pregnant. The devastating loss of their son, Charles Orion Leslie Thompson tore a hole in their hearts and left their world in a dark place. On December 22, Jamie had to give birth , knowing full well that the child no longer had a heartbeat. The strength, love and support that they have is overwhelming, but time is the only thing that can help heal their broken hearts. The strength both Jamie and Kyle have is something to be envied, especially keeping brave faces on for their kids Jamison, Corey, Travis and Ellie, but behind closed doors is a sea of heartbreak.
The emotional healing for both grieving parents has just begun and during this time, any sortof help would be appreciated so Kyle can stay home and be together with Jamie and not worry about their bills piling up. The holidays arefull of wonder and joy, but this holiday is a somber time.
Even just sharing the word to help them with enough support so they can just grieve the death of their child while taking care of their daughter with Down syndrome and 3 sons.
We appreciate everyone supporting them through the hardest time of their life. My sister was meant to be a mommy. And Kyle the Dad.
