Back Injury With Complications

I was really trying to avoid doing this, but it has been a rough year for me, and I fear I'm kind of at a dead end.

My mother passed last March, and I missed some work for that.

Then in April I had the second COVID shot and was out of work for 2 months.

I went back to work for a vigorous 6 days a week and a lot of 12 hour days. For a couple of months.

About 9 months ago I was rear-ended on the way at 5:30 am. She had no insurance. I thought I was fine, and I drove on to work. Within a few days I realized I couldn't walk for more than a little bit at a time. After a Carenow visit and 2 hospital visits, I realized that I have 2 fractures in my spine - in addition to the back injury I already have from an abusive relationship 20 years ago. I have no medical insurance. For the past five years I have worked for Instacart, Tom Thumb, and other various delivery services. It's a lot of lifting cases of waters and sodas, 3 months worth of groceries - all the heavy things people don't want to do themselves. And they generally live in a 3rd floor apartment.

The physical therapist at the hospital said I had probably already worn my back out at work and to basically go home and try to move as little as possible. This means I can't return to the work I have been doing, so I find myself a little bit lost. Quite a bit lost.

I am applying for every assistance program in the book, but these things take time, and bills wait for no one. I had hoped to apply for Texas Rent Relief, but it had just ended. The food bank that I have been to over the years has no Electricity bill funds. I have applied for disability as well. I have no idea if my injuries will heal on their own or not, or if I will have to have surgery, or if I will be able to find a job that my back will allow me to perform.

It has been a rough couple of years, and I honestly don't know how my daughters and I have survived. We got evicted because I had no income. I am in a motel at the moment, and it is very expensive. If you can help in any way, my family would greatly appreciate it. I do not know where we will be in the coming months. I'm facing homelessness soon. If that happens, I definitely will not be able to go back to work because the shelters are few and far between and I can't drive. The majority of them will not even let you stay more than a few days.
