April 2024: I fractured my leg. I don't have health insurance because I've been trying to pay off other health bills from 2020. But now, I need surgery and pretty much I have not worked since March 20, 2024. I still owe about $41,607 from having cancer, two surgeries, 2 ER trips/ambo bills/CT scans, etc. Adding on the current issue: Surgery (happening on 4/16/24) is about $14,000. I have already spent $250 at urgent care, $100 for a boot, $193 to see ortho doc, $50 on a scooter, $190 for my primary care doc (labs) to approve me for surgery. I am supposedly approved for Unemployment insurance, but we'll see if I actually get any money. 6-8 weeks...I cannot put weight on my leg & I did have a physical job that I'd like to return to. After that 4-6 weeks in a boot.

So, this is my 3rd week not working and I have about 2 months of recovery coming. Not to mention cost of rehab.

All in all, a total of about $63,440. (I don't even come close to that working a full yr - even when I had two jobs).

Any help would be appreciated.

Also the $63,440 does not take into consideration the

gofundme fee. And yes, I'm applying for health insurance from the State of Arizona as well.

4/13/24 Added on $2260 for anesthesia. Total now: $65,700.

6/1/21 UPDATE: Denied by AHCCCS twice. Also, no financial aid from hospital because I "make too much."

So, now two surgery bills, two ER trips, two ambo bills, two CT scans (over $5000 each), two anesthesia bills, two nights stay

at Banner once they finally fixed me up after second ER trip.

So, I am reviving my fundraiser. I swear, I need a corporate sponsor. LOL

Trying to send in money here and there just to keep bill collectors off my back.

So, $41,755 is needed + 2.9% gofundme fee is $1210.90 = $42,965 ($3820 was already raised)

So, new fundraising goal is $46,515.

WHY I'M RAISING MONEY......  Symptoms arose.  Have been to 4 different doc offices now. After different types of ultrasounds, exams, a biopsy, etc ($1400) .....it was discovered I have endometrial (wall of uterus) cancer.  Quickest, easiest way to solve problem is a hysterectomy. ($7000-15,000 depending on what is found & time used - includes anesthesia, hospital fees, pathology, surgery, lymph node dissection, recovery room, etc).  And since cancer is involved, follow up appts are involved. ($250 each, every 3 months for next 2 yrs, and every 6 months for 3 more yrs).  Estimated recovery time: approx 4 weeks.  So, missing a month of work (give or take is $2800....note...that's rounding DOWN, 2 jobs, take home only).

I have 2 very active jobs. So, I MUST take it easy after surgery.

$15,000 + 3500 (follow ups) + 1400 + 2800 = $22,700.

But again, I'm rounding down.  $20,000 + 2.9% gofundme fee ($580) = $20,580.

UPDATE: So, a friend gave me $500 direct and other friend gave me $20 direct. So, subtracting that from amt needed and adding back in the 2.9% gofundme cut. So, new goal: $20,045.

I applied for AHCCCS, was denied. (AZ State health insurance)

Tried some charties.... I don't have the right TYPE of cancer (not cervical).

I have some other voicemails and emails out to charities.

How soon do I need the funds?  Surgery is Nov 3. So, Oct 28 or sooner will help me be able to prove I can pay for my operation. + need more current blood work, a chest x-ray, EKG, etc before this all happens.

I know times are tough for a lot of people. If you can chip in, that's great. If not, that's ok too.  And if you can tell a couple more people that tell a couple more people, etc......that would also be great.  

Adding info.... If goal is reached, I promise to set up a savings acct for my follow up appointments and hopefully show ZERO signs of cancer at every appointment.

11/2/20 UPDATE.....

Well, y'all just aren't going to believe this..... but it is 2020 soooooooooo..... my surgeon's father died. So, surgery postponed. No new date yet. Maybe this weekend? And if I'm not quick enough..... then my COVID test is void (by the way....the nose thingy ain't THAT BAD !!!) You just CANNOT make this stuff up!!!!

Also.... enough raised on here for a month off work (remember, gofundme fee comes out). Although postponing screws things up with both of my jobs. My mother, brother, and a friend (friend mentioned above) chipped in some money directly to me..... but after getting a lab bill for $676.80...... I'm afraid to reduce me goal in case more SUPRISES like that pop up.

11/18 UPDATE....

Started to bleed UNCONTROLLABLY and had to call ambo/go to ER.

Was sent home this night.....only to have it happen again ........

On Sunday the 22nd...... I had another complication.... I hemorrhaged AGAIN (nothing was done to fix me on the 18th.....my first trip to ER after surgery)!!!  Another trip to the ER. This time, they kept me til I could get "repaired." Was supposed to have follow up appt with my surgeon Mon at 9am, but he saw me real quick in the hosp instead, and we planned for surgery at 5pm that day. Had surgery and got let out at about noon on Tues. I am reapplying for AHCCCS (for those out of state....that's the state version of health insurance). And FOR SURE the original amount of this fundraiser and what has been raised so far won't cover the 2 extra trips to the ER. We shall see what happens.
