Dear Family and Friends,
Many of you have already heard that Joseph Miller, on October 11th, was admitted to a Hospital in the Los Angles area due to hemorrhaging on his brain. The blood that leaked onto his brain has caused one of his lungs to collapse and fill with fluid. We learned today (Oct. 12th) that he suffered a Basal Ganglia Stroke. As of the writing of this he is still unconscious, in critical condition and in the ICU and being closely monitored. His parents have flown in from Nebraska and are now with him.
Here is a snippet from a recent (Oct 12th) FaceBook Post:
“He's still very critical. When in the room with his mom her voice made his ICP (Inter-Cranial Pressure) get into mid 30s so can't even whisper in the room. So hard to want to talk and touch but he truly can't have any stimulus of any kind right now.
Doc said he'll be in this state for the next few days. They literally are just driving him- on all the machines- monitoring - maintaining all levels as best as possible.”
Since this FaceBook post it has also been said that if Joe’s ICP spikes to high it could cause him to go completely brain dead.
At this point, prayer is the best support, and we, his friends and family, ask that you pray like you’ve never prayed before for healing and restoration of Joseph, both body and mind. The emotional burden of watching our friend and family member is one we're all sharing right now, we're all distraught, saddened, shocked, confused, praying, crying and hoping that everything works out and Joseph makes an amazing and miraculous recovery.
That being said this situation has already incurred thousands of dollars of medical and travel expense and just as we share in the emotions of this unpredicted event, we’re coming together to share the financial burden as well. We ask that you scrape everything you can together and help him and his family weather this storm. The amount we’re raising here probably will not even cover a quarter of the medical bills, but it will give Joe and his family the starting point to recover from this life shattering event.
