At the end of May Callie and Carl were excited to find out they were expecting and the excitement continued to rise when they found out they were expecting twins. Finally the day of her anatomy scan arrived, a boy and a girl! Carl and Callie were finally getting a sweet baby girl! Soon after finding out the genders they got some heart wrenching news. They were told their little boy was going to be born with a cleft lip as well as their little girl had a birth defect known as anencephaly. Their hearts were torn to pieces. Callie spent most of the next 14 weeks on bed rest. At only 34 weeks Callie was experiencing some sharp pains, her and Carl headed to labor and delivery at Memorial Herman not expecting to be told than it just a few hours the babies would be taken via c section due to her water having a slight leak. Little Carl and Kinsley made their appearance on January 6th. Little Carl was not breathing on his own and was taken to NICU shortly after. (Little Carl will have a long road with many surgeries ahead.) Their sweet little girl defied the odds of her condition and showed how big of a miracle she truly was. At just a little over 3lbs baby Kinsley did not have most of her brain but out shined her brother by breathing on her own and doing everything a normal newborn at 40 weeks would do and even more. Lifting her head, opening her eyes, cooing, and even showing off a slight smile. Doctors were speechless. Callie and Carl were able to spend 3 days with her, unfortunately God confirmed what everyone already knew... Kinsley Emma Watkins was too precious for this Earth. The Watkins family is in need of help with the expenses of the funeral and also with the expenses of driving back and forth to he hospital where their little boy will be for a few more weeks. As young parents with already two children at home anything helps and the family appreciates it so much. Please help this family give their little girl a beautiful funeral and be able to go see their little boy as much as they can without having to worry about the cost.
