Chelsea's story -
Chelsea's was diagnosed with dialated cardiomyopathy at the age of 2.
While this was a hard time, 11 years on we were at the home stretch of our journey!
Until one small blood test pulled the rug out from underneath us. We were rushed back to John Hunter, then to Westmead. Where we were informed Chelsea was in kidney failure, and has been ever since she was 2 and because of heart diagnosis it was never caught until now.
We were lucky! Chelsea's father was going to be a sure match and we were fast tracked to go straight to transplant without dialysis
But in the last week things have taken a turn for the worst and we are now unable to go ahead with transplant and must have long term dialysis.
In order for this to go ahead, I must receive at least 3 weeks training at Westmead to be able to do dialysis at home.
These funds will help towards many areas of our new life but mostly for medical expenses, making our home medically fit for dialysis and the 3+ weeks of zero income to make home dialysis possible.
