This Year, My Birthday Run Has a Purpose!
This year, for my birthday, instead of gifts, I’m inviting you to join me for a 5K run or walk and, if you’d like, donate to a cause that means the most to me - Education.
Every contribution will go to Asha for Education, a charity that provides quality education to underprivileged children in India.
- 100% of the funds raised will be directly transferred to this organization.
- The last day to contribute is November 16, 2026.
Why This Matters to Me?
Every year, I celebrate life by running a 5K on my birthday - a moment to reflect and feel grateful. This year, I want to make it even more meaningful by extending this tradition to my running community and celebrating the joy of movement while supporting a cause close to my heart.
Education has shaped who I am today. I feel fortunate to have received it - both in India and here in the U.S., and it has empowered me to build the life I once dreamed of. Sadly, many children in India are still deprived of this basic right.
Through this charity run, I'm interested in contributing to this Asha Project - Gramya Sansthan. This project operates educational centers in villages of Naugarh, 90KMs from Varanasi, UP, providing elementary education up to grade 8 for about 500 children from low-income families. The project is supported by Asha for Education’s Chicago Chapter.
Why the organization needs funding:
Gramya previously received financial support from CRY but no longer does. The organization now relies on external donations to continue and expand its educational initiatives.
Funding is urgently needed to:
- Strengthen and sustain its education program in a remote, underserved area.
- Improve school infrastructure (currently only one room for 50 students).
- Support children from marginalized Dalit and tribal communities.
- Empower women and uplift families affected by poverty and social inequality.

Whether you join the run, walk a few miles, or simply donate - your participation creates ripples of change. Let’s turn this birthday into something truly meaningful — miles that matter.
