Phillip's Restoration Journey

Donation protected
Hello friends, family, and loved ones. My name is Matt Chumley. I am Phill's older brother. Life has an unbelievable way of being complicated and overwhelming. All of us have been created in a plan, one that may not be understood nor enjoyed at times. Yesterday, October 10th, Phill was involved in a very tragic car accident, one that has taken the life of a beautiful young girl Jourdan Bradley. This is a time where the plan is not understood, not by us here on earth. Only God knows why this has happened, we will always be with out the reason or mental capacity when it comes to these type of things. God will give us our answers when we are ready to receive and allow us all time to heal. I know that Jourdan will be missed by all those who knew her and loved her. We are truly saddened by this terrible event.

Today is the beginning of an enormous journey for Phillip Chumley.  He is my brother, my friend, a son, and an amazing father to sweet little Ava. This is what Phill is facing and will face, on this new journey...Yesterday Phill was airlifted to Harbor View Medical Center in Seattle.  He was immediately admitted to the O.R. to have emergency surgery where due to internal bleeding his spleen was removed. The doctors have left an opening from this surgery  to keep an eye on bleeding.

Phill has also gone through a surgery to repair some broken bones in his face. Plastic surgeons have helped in making sure his face returns to its original glory.
He has a very large wound on his upper leg the doctors describe as an "Open Glove" type wound. Basically the muscles on his upper left leg have been pulled away from his femur bone. Phill has multiple fractures in his spine as well.
Right now as I am writing this, he is in surgery to fix or repair the fractures in his spine.
He has one cracked rib, and some very bad swelling with multiple stitches all around his head. The doctors have done multiple x-rays and a couple CT scans, as of now he has no bleeding in his brain.
Amazingly Phill has been coherent most of the time, and he has been able to move his fingers and toes, also doctors believe he has not broken any bones in his limbs. Phill does have a breathing tube and is heavily sedated. He has been able to open his eyes and appears to know who people are when they speak to him.  There may be other things that I am forgetting at this moment but, I will continue to maintain updates of his progress.
If there is one thing I know, Phill is a fighter when it comes to life, he will never give up! As big of a fighter that Phill is, he is still going to need our help. This will be an enormous undertaking physically, and even more mentally to recover.

Thank you everyone who has helped and sent condolences, we appreciate your support. As everyone can imagine with the many surgeries and the many weeks he will have to spend here at the Hospital, I will be setting up a account to help offset any costs that will be incurred. I will post more information as I am able. Even more helpful than anything financial we need you  your love and support. I have also created an email account where you can send messages that I can pass on to Phill when he is well.

Ok , this is my first entry and I will end it here for now.

Thank you all for your support, God bless.
