Domino’s Surgery
Domino is our precious baby who would never hurt anyone. We have raised him since birth and he has been our baby ever since. He loves tummy rubs and chins scratches and meeting new people. He’s always happy and purring. He loves to talk to you with a series of little meows and tons of tail talk.
Yesterday afternoon (Sunday 06/14/2020) we returned from Walmart to tragically see our baby boy laying under our porch with his side and organs exposed, bleeding to death. We thought he was attacked by an animal.
We immediately wrapped him in a towel and brought him to the animal hospital (Carolina Veterinary Specialists) The hospital told us after the X-ray that he was shot with a long rifle and there is shrapnel in his body and his shoulder was fractured from the impact. This also led to him losing the dorsal portion of his scapula. We were shocked that someone would do that to such a kind and loving animal. We would never ask for money, but we need to see our baby healthy and happy.
We cannot give enough appreciation to anyone who can help us after this tragic event. Please help our baby We’re going to do everything we can to make sure the person who did this to our poor baby pays for what they did to him and to us.
Updates: First of all; Domino is able to walk on his right leg! He was able to have part of his wound closed and it has healed up amazing, he has all new tissue on the remaining wound but it has failed to close on its own so he has an appointment scheduled to close up the remaining wound on Thursday 08/06/2020. The surgery could cost up to $1000, just waiting on an estimate. The vet did detect a heart murmur as well whenever we took him for a routine bandage change. Which means we need to take him to a cardiologist ASAP, therefore the $3000->$4000. Dominos vet bills have exceeded well over $4000. I will do a final calculation after everything is taken care of and I will update accordingly. Right now I’m not worried about costs but we are basically in a financial crisis and once again in need of some extra funds to put towards his procedures. I cannot thank you all for all of your generosity for my baby. He is back to his sweet and cuddly self and in the process of getting a full recovery and we couldn’t have done it without you ❤️ Amputation may eventually have to be an option due to possible arthritis as he ages, but that’s at a later date. He doesn’t seem to have much trouble with his right leg, A slight limp occasionally. He has also gained back most of his weight, now weighing in at 10lbs after dropping to almost 7lbs. Domino was also neutered during this journey, so YAY! Again thank you all for your support and I will keep you updated as best as I can.
