As most of yall know, I was recently diagnosed with breast cancer, triple negative invasive ductal carcinoma. It is a highly aggressive cancer that grows and spreads faster than most cancers. My oncologist has put together an emergent plan to shrink the 7+ cm tumor before surgically removing it; 6 months of immunochemotherapy. This plan should’ve began 5 weeks ago. The holdup… insurance. It’s been a struggle trying to get them on board with all the new specialists, appeals, approvals, etc. I’ve learned everything is a process in this industry and there seems to be no sense of urgency on any end. I’ve started this fundraiser to pay for my final pet scan that the insurance keeps denying. I’m not able to start treatments until I get this scan done and unfortunately, I don’t have any time to spare waiting for whoever’s desk this appeal is sitting on to approve my request. This will also cover the immunochemotherapy injections as those also are pending approval. Whatever can be donated would be so helpful in getting over this speed bump and on the road to recovery.
