Our dear Chris needs help. On her behalf I am posting this GoFundMe to raise money for her medical expenses.
My sister in-law has been living with a brain tumor and scar tissue for many years that has caused her to have epilepsy. Due to the seizures, she has been on many medications, multiple times a day for most of her life. The medications have been unsuccessful and her seizures have continued to become uncontrolled. She exhausted every avenue of treatment to delay the inevitable and very scary brain surgery. On Wednesday 2/6/19 she finally underwent a successful brain surgery. Her surgery was about 7 hours long where they had to remove most of her beautiful long hair. The tumor and scar tissue were in different locations which required a very large incision. It took a team of surgeons, but they are confident that the tumor and scar tissue were completely removed. Halleluiah!!!! She has not had the easiest recovery, due to severe headaches, facial and neck swelling from being intubated so long. She was released from the hospital February 9 to continue her rehab and recovery at home. Her long recovery time is unknown and she is now unable to work.
On top of focusing on her recovery, the family will be loosing all income and health insurance. Her husband David, my brother, was recently and unexpectedly notified his position at Hagerty Steel on the coil line will be eliminated. He has worked at Hagerty for over 20 years, so this comes as a shock and detrimental to their financially stability.
Chris continues to live life bravely. She never complains or asks for anything. She has always thought of others before herself and is the very definition of the work "selfless." Chris always has a kind and positive attitude which affects everyone around her. No one knows how to have more fun than Chris! Now it's our turn to give back.
Due to these extreme life events we are asking for donations to help pay for medical expenses and rehabilitation. She would never ask so I am asking for her.
