Randy's Fight

Randy's Fight: Stage IV-B Hodgkin's Lymphoma

Here is a little about Randy.

Up until Randy started his freshman year of high school,  he was a typical 15 year old boy who  loved sports, fishing, hunting and hanging out with his friends.

In September of last year Randy's  parents begin to notice he was becoming easily fatigued, losing his appetite, running a high fever and having night sweats.   After going to the doctor, lab work and , testing he ended up in the  emergency room where he was immediately admitted for a suspected blood cancer.

After extensive testing and scans,  Randy was diagnosed with Stage IV-B Hodgkin's Lympoma, just four days after his 15th birthday.  The lymphoma had spread to his spleen, lungs, spine and several other locations in his body.     Due to the extent of  his disease he was placed on a more harsh chemo regimen than what is  typically used for Hodgkin's Lymphoma.

This treatment has been extremely hard on his immune system and bone marrow, resulting in many lengthy  hospital stays due to blood infections, viruses, and other complications.

Randy has been a very strong  young man throughout this treatment, has maintained a positive attitude and always has a smile on his face.  He is looking forward to being a typical teenager again and going back to school.   He looks forward to being at home for good with his mom, dad, three sisters and his two dogs Sophie and Gracie.

Randy's mom was working full time as a teacher and has been on unpaid medical leave since Randys  diagnosis.  Due to complications and delays in his treatment, her FMLA job protection recently ran out, and she had to resign from her position.

This is a financial as well as emotional hardship on Randy's family.

Randy and his family need all the prayers that you can send  and any financial assistance you can offer to assist with medical, loss of income and extra expenses associated with treatment and hospital stays.
