I am reaching out today as a friend of Captain Coyne, Rodolfo Lara, Robert Barrientos, Tony Bustamante, and brother of Andy Ortega, all central figures in the ongoing documentary titled "Foxtrot: Operation Reunification." This documentary chronicles a significant chapter from the early 1990s – the first Iraq war – when Saddam Hussein's invasion of Kuwait shook the world. Amidst this turmoil, a courageous assembly of Marines and Navy personnel converged in the arid expanse of the Persian Gulf desert to establish an improvised hospital, miles away from civilization.
These valiant individuals not only saved numerous fellow Navy, Marines and Coalition Forces but also extended their care to Iraqi soldiers in need. Their unwavering commitment demonstrated the bond that transcends borders and adversity. After the conflict subsided, these heroes disbanded, only to reunite after 27 long years. "Foxtrot: Operation Reunification" documents their experiences during their deployment and delves into their lives in the aftermath of war.
Through this reunion, these soldiers found solace and support, navigating the challenges of post-war health and mental well-being. Their camaraderie flourished, both during the reunion itself and throughout our filming process. However, our documentary's progress has hit a roadblock due to insufficient funds to finalize editing, sound design, music, and festival participation expenses, requiring an estimated $8,000.
We humbly request your consideration and support in our quest to secure the necessary finishing funds.
In the interim, we invite you to view the documentary trailer : https://youtu.be/VvF8bBhRLDA?si=4bsJ0p1oLZ5pK5ro
providing a glimpse into the compelling narrative we aim to share with the world.
Thank you for your time and potential support.
