"Hi there! I'm Fox, and I'm the bestest boy in the whole wide world (at least, that's what my humans say!)! I'm a very handsome young pup - I'm turning 4 soon! I love going on my morning walk with my human, sniffing things, cuddling, and am the center of attention at parties! I go by a couple of other aliases too, like Senor Fuzzybritches (I have very fuzzy legs!) and Doofus McDerpitans (I got that nickname for sneakily eating food on the counter for a party the human threw while she had walked to the door to greet guests)!
However, a little bit ago, I started feeling very tired. I was exhausted going on walks and just kept wanting to take more and more naps. It wasn't so bad at first and everyone thought maybe I'd caught a doggie cold or something, but all of a sudden it got really bad really quick. I was throwing up my food, and pooping and peeing in my bed. One of my humans took me to the vet, who said I might have Valley Fever. I was starting to have a bit of trouble standing that day too, so they gave me some antibiotics and painkillers for me and did some bloodwork to find out what it was, but we were told it would be a few days before the bloodwork came back and if it was Valley Fever I would need to take a medicine called Fluconazole to help me.
I tried the medicine the vet gave us but I rapidly got worse, and by the next day I started shivering and needed to wear a blanket to stay warm, and had to be lifted by both humans just to stand up. The next day I couldn't even stand anymore, so I was taken to the emergency vet and have been here for two days, receiving IVs and Fluconazole. When I got here, I had a heart rate of 35 and swelling in my brain - I was even told it might herniate! After receiving medicine at the emergency vet I started to feel better, but I have a really long road ahead to recovery."
My name is Cate; Fox is my roommate Sam's dog and is the nicest, goofiest dog I've ever had the pleasure to meet and go on morning walks with (even if he DID eat the food at the party, the doofus, haha!). His health quickly plummeted and we're trying to get him all better. We're both doing what we can, but the prices of the initial exam and the emergency vet are immense and we need help so we can help this good boy. Any funding donated will go to paying the vet and emergency vet bills, and towards the medication he needs for Valley Fever.
