Four years ago, our world was turned upside down when my Mom, Robin Woehler, was diagnosed with Stage 4 Colon Cancer. The initial shock and fear were overwhelming as we grappled with the harsh reality of her condition. The statistics were daunting, with a 5-year survival rate of only 14%. Yet, Robin's spirit remained unbroken, and anyone who has spoken to her in the past four years can attest. She has faced each challenge with unwavering determination, proving that she was more than just a number.
Now, as she enters the fourth year of this battle, we've received disheartening news: her cancer markers have risen. Despite the setback, I have no doubt that my mom, Robin, will continue to fight with all her might. We remain hopeful as her cancer has been extremely responsive to the chemotherapy, however, the financial strain of this ongoing battle has become increasingly burdensome. Even with insurance, unexpected medical expenses have taken a toll on our family and have even caused her to delay treatment (which kills me, and therefore led me to reaching out for support).
We are eternally grateful for the incredible support we received from our friends and community four years ago. Your generosity lifted a significant weight off our shoulders. Today, we humbly ask for your help once again. Your contributions, no matter how small, will make a world of difference in supporting Robin's continued fight.
If you are unable to donate, please know that your thoughts and prayers are invaluable.
As a reminder, Robin urges everyone to prioritize their health. The medical community has recently lowered the recommended age for colonoscopies to 45. Early detection is key. Please, don't delay. Get tested today.
