In lieu of a birthday present, I'm asking for donations, however big or small, to help me get a play to The Edinburgh Fringe Festival this summer. From $1 to $10,000, anything will help.
Four Woke Baesis a dark comedy following four friends on a river-rafting bachelor party turned upside down when a mysterious woman kayaks ashore. Over the course of a long night of drinking, fire building, and s'more--making our groom-to-be, Dez, comes to question the very nature of love and monogamy. Rifles are drawn, stripteases are danced and secrets are unearthed as this quartet of friends comes together and falls apart. Cynical and raw, hilarious and squirm-inducing, this raucous #metoo era play asks the question of how liberal "woke" boys really are when they’re alone together, out in nature, beers in hand.
The funds will cover travel and housing for 5 artists along with set and stage design. We'll be staying in bunks and the like, so don't think for a minute this is like a luxury trip. All the artists involved are working for nothing.
Some of the artists involved include married couple Lyndsy Fonseca & Noah Bean, Michael Braun, Matt Staddelman, Quincey Dunn Baker and Director, Teddy Bergman.
