Found Pittie needing surgery
Hi, I'm Ginger. Today on my way home from work, I saw a small pittie walking behind a man in a gas station parking lot. The man had a smaller dog on a leash and another dog not on a leash which appeared to be limping. My first thought was that something was wrong. I continued driving but couldn't get the image of this dog out of my mind. I turned my car around and drove back to the area where I had seen the dog. They were still there. I pulled over and heard the man asking another man if he wanted the dog. I proceeded to ask him of the dog was ok. He told me the dog had been hit by a car about 5 days ago. He asked me if I wanted the dog and I said yes.
I put the sweet baby in my car and took him to an urgent vet. He fell asleep in the back of my car. He was obviously in pain and was unable to put weight through his left back leg. X-rays were taken and it was determined that he has bilateral pelvic fractures and a fracture in his left back tibial crest and aversion. The x-rays also show rocks throughout his intestine.
The recommendation is that he see an orthopedic vet ASAP. I was told by the urgent care vet that he would undoubtedly need multiple surgeries at thousands of dollars. This young pup is estimated to be 5-6 months old.
At this point, I have to take care of him. It is breaking my heart to know that this has happened to this sweet baby. I have never done a go fund me but I don't have the type of money to take care of these type of surgeries. One way or another I am going to give this dog the life he deserves.
If you are able to help in any way, I would be so grateful. Thank you!
