- This sweet 3-month-old baby girl was crying on our doorstep on a minus below zero-day, begging for help. She was scared, freezing, hungry, covered in dirt with frozen paws.
We brought her in and found she had painful frostbite on her paws, nose, feet and legs. In addition, the frostbite on her hind legs was scabbed and raw and exposed to the bone. We made a vet appointment for the next possible date but found that she was in severe pain and her wounds were infected; she needed to be seen by a Vet ASAP, which led us to the Emergency on the weekend.
The prognosis was that she would require weeks of pain medications, antibiotics, and new bandages of her legs with two to three times a week for a month or longer she will need surgery and amputation on her tail.
- The costs from the Emergency Vet came to $624.00; to continue the weekly meds, bandages, and is up to $200 each visit. Surgery on her tail will come to $849 or more.
This sweet, gentle girl has stolen our hearts in a few short days, and we've named her Coconut. It hurts to see her in so much pain; we want to give her all the available treatment to live a long, happy life with us; the cost is just SO MUCH, and unfortunately, we only have so many funds available. As the Vet said this will be a long road to recovery.
- Coconut and our Family would greatly appreciate it if you could share a little of your heart and help out with a donation to treat her treatment. Even a few dollars would help if you could spare it.
Leftover funds will be donated to a cat rescue
If you have donated and are comfortable with sharing your address I would love to send a Thank You card and a little gift from Coconut, please visit my Instagram acct - shawneethepainter and DM me your name and address ❤️
