I’m Kimberly Hammack, Executive Director of On The Rise. On June 8th one of our foster youth was in a car accident and had to be airlifted to Loma Linda. Luckily he is okay, but we can’t say the same for his truck. RG has been in foster care with us for over 5 years and is an amazing young man. He opted to stay in extended foster care and is now 20 years old. He works full-time as a manager at a local fast food restaurant and uses his truck daily. He is getting ready to move into his own apartment soon and this truck was his only way to get around town.
To make matters worse, after the accident someone stole his debit card from his truck while he was en route to the hospital and used it to make fraudulent charges. We are asking our friends, family and community to show this foster youth some love so we can help him buy a new truck. RG is a member of our agency’s Key Club and we purchased his first truck for him. Since then he has set a goal of working and attending college before he ages out of foster care at 21. All money raised will go directly to the purchase of a new truck. Any help is appreciated!
