Foster cat Jorah got his surgeries - thank you!

Hi! My name is Leesa. I've been involved in cat rescue for nearly 2 decades. Jorah is one of our foster cats. Jorah and his littermates were born to a local barn cat last Spring; three of the kittens were brought to us last Summer when they were old enough to leave their mother. Jorah's two sisters were adopted, but Jorah was not. Jorah has since developed increasingly noisy breathing; Veterinary investigation started with x-rays, then a CT scan.

The CT scan showed that Jorah has two masses, one in his left tympanic bulla (middle ear), and one in his nasopharynx (nasal cavity...which is what is causing Jonah's breathing difficulties). The two growths are most likely related, and need to be removed, especially as Jorah’s breathing continues to worsen. Jorah is just a year old, and we feel that he deserves a chance to live.

Jorah is tentatively scheduled for surgery to remove the masses in his airway and middle ear on May 28th (UPDATE: June 16th). Jorah will be having a VBO (Ventral Bulla Osteotomy) for the growth in his middle ear, as well as another procedure to retract Jorah’s soft palate (the roof of his mouth) to remove the nasopharyngeal polyp in his airway. The estimate for these procedures varies significantly, since the level of difficulty for the surgery won’t be fully realized until the actual surgical attempt. The surgical estimate of $5,000-8,000 for Jorah is not small, which is why I'm supplementing our usual rescue fundraising efforts with a GoFundMe to help specifically with Jorah's surgery.
