On Tuesday, September 9, 2025, Laura and Chalex lost everything in the apartment fire that devastated so many residents of Squirrel Hill. They had just moved into their new home and, in an instant, all of their belongings, clothes, and furniture were gone, literally up in smoke. Thankfully, they are safe but they're starting over with nothing.

We are raising funds to help them cover immediate needs like temporary housing, clothing, food, and essentials, as well as longer-term needs like finding a new place to live and starting to replace what was lost.

Any amount, big or small, will make a huge difference as they start the daunting process rebuilding from scratch. We are also accepting donated goods and have a spreadsheet of what is needed (donations may be dropped off at the front office on the 27th floor of the Cathedral of Learning).
