Tumaini is a bright, determined young woman in Arusha Tanzania who I met eight years ago . I've been supporting her education and boarding throughout high school, and now-- Tumaini wants to pursue college!

Tumaini has been her own tireless advocate since I met her when she was 12. She left her village on her own to find MWEDO, the Maasai-woman-led organization I was working for, and ask for a scholarship. They had none available, so I took on the responsibility of paying for her education. 

Since then, Tumaini has succesfully completed high school, run her own small business, become a mother, and got her younger sister enrolled in full-time secondary school. She now lives in Arusha.


Tumaini decided she wants to go to Mwenge Catholic University for a non-degree certificate in accounting. I would like to have a fund set up for her to pay for tuition, as well as boarding on campus or wherever she thinks suits her best. I will collect funds and transfer them as tuition payments become due.
