Greetings!

On Friday, July 8th 2016, I was diagnosed with stage 2 breast cancer. It rocked my world, because who expects to hear, “you have breast cancer”? Being a single mother, I immediately thought about my 12 year old daughter and 4 year old son. What does this mean for them? How drastic would it change their lives? More importantly, what would I tell them? It took me the rest of the weekend to gather myself emotionally and mentally, but I slowly began to tell those closest to me. My son was to young to really understand, but my daughter was another story. Without scaring her, I told her the best way I felt she could understand and handle it. Overnight, our lives changed.   Within the 1st two weeks, I met with 4 doctors, who are now part of my medical routine. They’re treating my particular cancer as triple negative. It’s very aggressive and mean. In order to treat it, I have to undergo 6 months of aggressive chemotherapy (20 treatments), surgery, and then radiation every day for 45 days. I was told, “It’s going to be a year long journey.” Fast forward to today and I’m 5 treatments in, and sporting a bald head (one of many side effects). Chemotherapy is extremely grueling on the body, and as a result, I could no longer hold my job. It takes me about 4 days after a treatment before I can even attempt to get out of bed. I then have to go get IV fluids, due to being dehydrated. I have about 4 days afterwards were I feel ok, and then it’s time for another treatment. Meanwhile, I’m still trying to help with homework, cook, drop my children off to school, and be somewhat present.  In less than 2 months, my medical bills have reached $24,000.00 and counting. I’m trying the best I can to maintain my health, be a good mother, and my financial responsibilities.  I’m setting up this GoFundMe, because it’s REALLY a struggle. It’s a daily battle, and I want to make my children proud of me and the fight I’m giving. If you can find it in your heart to give, any donation will help and be humbly appreciated. If not, a kind word would do just as well. Please, keep me and my family in your continuous prayers. My spirits are and will remain high. My motto is: “Move over cancer, you don’t have dominion over me!”

Give thanks, and The Most High bless you!

Love and light,
