To know Todd Lancaster, you must see him through the eyes of those he helps; his students. These children, the most misunderstood, are the most needful of appropriate compassion and guidance. Parts of his character that he freely gives away on a daily basis as a special education teacher in Bonham, Texas. Because he is a single father of two young girls his monthly income has no wiggle room. So when he began suffering from pain in his neck, numbness and tingling in his left leg and arm he didn't seek medical treatment. Until one day at work he bent over to pick something up and had shooting pain in the left side of his face, left arm and leg along with the numbness. He immediately went to the ER where he was referred to a neurologist. After several x-rays and an MRI he was diagnosed with a calcified bulging disc compressing on his spinal cord. He was told he needed surgery immediately, but because he does not have insurance, his current financial state, and he won't take time away from his students, he has to wait until December during Christmas break. He is in constant severe pain but continues to teach.
He needs to have the surgery or he could possibly be paralyzed. The cost of the the surgery will be enormous, but it is necessary.
If you can help in any way to assist with his medical funds so he can get back to teaching my son and the rest of the children I know he will appreciate it so much. As will the kids, parents and staff he works with.
