For the Love of Bury - GO FIGHT WIN

We appreciate you wanting to learn more about this fundraiser. We work with Ryan Bury at Eastside Vocational Services. If you know Ryan, it won't surprise you to know that we, his work family, have been missing him something fierce since he's been out of work fighting his war with a particularly aggressive and resistant form of cancer. This all started in August of last year when Ryan was life flighted to Portland for surgery to stop internal bleeding. In the months that followed, a tumor was found on one of Ryan’s kidneys, which eventually led to a diagnosis of stage 3 undifferentiated pleomorphic sarcoma and the discovery of more tumors. Ryan was enrolled in an experimental clinical trial and endured three rounds of chemotherapy, which decreased his tumors by 40% but also wreaked havoc on his body. Since that time, Ryan has battled one medical crisis after another and has been in and out of the emergency room locally and in Seattle. His current treatment plan is to receive immunotherapy once his body is strong enough. He continues to fight the sequelae of damage done by the chemo.

Ever since this campaign (Dungeons & Dragons reference) started a little over a year ago, Ryan has battled in one encounter after another with his friends and family by his side. Ryan continues to fight (like a tiger) with grit, resilience, and a healthy dose of wit. Ryan's light is bright, and this fundraiser seeks to provide some comfort and hope in a weary trying time. Please give what you can.

Funds will be used for medical and living expenses for the Bury Family. Please also keep the family: Ryan, Eva, Ezekiel, Mom Sherie, Dad Gary, Sisters Lakyn and Stephanie, and Gramma Linda in your thoughts and prayers.

Our first event that will accompany this online fundraiser is a restaurant takeover at Cornerstone Pie in Ellensburg, WA. If you're local or can make it here, please attend this event. A percentage of all sales will go to the Gretchen Weller Foundation, who have graciously agreed to be the beneficiary of the takeover and channel funds to the Bury Family. The more people that attend and dine, the greater the percentage of funds raised. The Gretchen Weller Foundation is a local, volunteer-led foundation that provides comfort and stress relief to families in Kittitas County living with cancer. Details for the event are below:
