The Fort Cherry Friends of the Montour Trail, an all volunteer group, monitors and maintains a 10 mile section of the Montour Trail from the Allegheny County line to Cecil Township. We are the “angels” of the trail who mow the grass, clear the deadfall, pick up the litter and perform the general maintenance necessary to keep the trail safe and enjoyable for all who use it.
The local volunteers work hard to maintain our section of the Montour Trail with limited funds. Our greatest need is for a large tractor rugged enough to keep our rural section of rail-trail looking good. Since we share a large tractor with five other Friends groups and the Trail Council we can't mow as often as we would like. We have the willing volunteers, but not the equipment to keep our area safe and attractive for the walkers, runners and cyclists who use it every day. We hope you'll help us achieve our goal for the benefit of all of our trail users.
