Fort McMurray needs our help! The city is now issuing evacuation orders due to massive flooding, caused by ice jams on the Athabasca River. Thousands of people are being forced to leave their homes.
The situation is dire. All of this is happening during the COVID-19 crisis, and just a few years after Fort McMurray was ravaged by a wildfire that burned thousands of homes and other buildings. Many of those people rebuilt, and are now having to evacuate yet again.
The city of Fort McMurray has been vital to Alberta's prosperity, and we believe Albertans should help out the people of Fort Mac in this time of tragedy, especially so soon after the 2016 wildfires.
Alberta Proud is trying to raise as much as we can to support the flood victims. All proceeds will be given to local food banks and/or other charitable organizations providing relief to people there.
