Hi my name is Justin Ward. I am the current coach of the Forsyth Fire 10u Baseball team. Youth sports and youth development is a huge passion. We’re enlisting your help as we begin our season.
But let me allow some time to explain why youth sports is such a large part of our life. I was born and raised in a small farm community in southern Indiana prior to taking my coaching position. I never knew baseball would have a huge impact on my adult life. As I developed I was a rather small kid. However, one man saw potential. He pulled me aside and begs. Working with me as his top pitcher. That man was my youngest uncle Mark. He was the last born boy of ten children. He was known as “baby brother” all around the community. He was a top baseball player that holds true today. He ignited a fire in me that had me throwing 70 mph at 11 years old and traveling the ages to play. However, one night over dinner my family learned the tragic news. My dear uncle had been making trips to Minneapolis Minnesota. He could not pick up his fork at dinner. The tears rolled as my mother asked her brother why. The only words he could say “I’m a dying man.” The grave news was a diagnosis of ALS. We watched for 11 years until the faithful day. Many times we went back to memories on the mound or the three home run day.
You see baseball just isn’t a sport it’s a way to promote our youth into tomorrow.
Join is as we move into tomorrow.
