Our dog Yuki is a rescue from Mexico that has been with us about 6 months now. She is a terrier mix and will be 3 on February 3rd (the birthday I made for her, she was about 2 and 1/2 when we got her, supposedly). She is perfect and we love her soo much. Everyone that meets Yuki falls in love with her and she is very popular everywhere we go. We found out last week she has a TVT tumor in her vagina and has to get surgery to debulk it and then chemotherapy to completely remove the disease, so she doesn't have a significantly shortened lifespan.
It took visits to several vets before we saw Dr. Cain, the only animal reproductive specialist in the Bay Area and received Yuki's official diagnosis. Dr. Cain has been very thorough and we feel confident in her abilities and treatment. Yuki's surgery is scheduled for next Thursday, February 4th, the day after her 3rd birthday. After she heals up, she will begin chemotherapy. Hopefully no more than 4 sessions but there is really no way to tell with these things until they get started. Then we hope she will continue to live a long and healthy life with us for many more years.
Needless to say this is all quite expensive and unexpected. Any help you can give to support us and our sweet girl will be much appreciated, there is no amount too small. In the meantime, we will be loving her up, taking her on adventures and treating her like the precious princess she is.
Much Love and Many Blessings,
Dominica, Kayla and Yuki
