This "go fund me" cause has been undertaken to assist Jill. She is a Border Collie and retired Sheep-girl. This little lady has unfortunately suffered a catastrophic knee injury that was threatening the removal of her leg or the unthinkable option of ending her life. Her owner and handler made the hard decision of putting herself in financial harm's way to save her girl. This cause is being championed by friends due to the surgical cost of $8,000 to save her leg and rebuild her knee so she can return to live out her life in quality. Jill is 10 years old and has already suffered the loss of her hearing, but is otherwise a happy girl in good health and loves her life living in Covelo. She now helps her owner who teaches 3rd Grade in the small Northern California community. She serves as an ambassador and emotional support to 3rd grade students who have had a tough year dealing with day to day grind of Covid Protocols and the starting and stopping of classes.

I have had the privilege of seeing the heart of this girl as she competed in her earlier years as a Sheepdog and was amazed at the talent this little lady displayed. Her owner and handler has no knowledge of what friends are doing to help. As you can imagine, this is an accident that has forced tough emotional and financial decisions. We hope that this girl can touch you as she has us.
