Former SFI Commander Sal Lizard

Greetings, fellow members and all former Commanders of STARFLEET !

Even though it was posted on the SFI Members only site I am setting up this GoFundMe in support of, and to give hope during this holiday season to former Commander, Starfleet Sal Lizard and his family who desperately need help.

For those who aren't aware, Sal's beloved wife of more than 40 years, Linda, passed away unexpectedly from a brain tumor just this last September. She was the primary wage-earner of the family, with some additional money coming in from Sal's daughter Ashley from waitressing at a local Waffle House. Sal himself was paralyzed along much of his left side from three mini-strokes a few years ago and can no longer work (or even drive to) a regular job. Sal gives so much of himself to his community and I understand still dresses up as Santa Claus for personal appearances, but he is unable to safely hold children on his lap without the use of his left arm.

His daughter, Ashley is in treatment herself for a medical condition.

I know that a large volunteer organization like SFI can go the distance in helping out a fellow member who is in dire need. He doesn’t want pity and so he has not asked in anyway for his Region or Fleet’s help. This isn’t a pity party, this is to make someone’s life and family know they are cared about and to make the world for them a little brighter.
