Former England boxer and coach Tony Cesay battling MND
Donazione protetta
I’m Steve Whitwell head coach of ST IVES BOXING ACADEMY and director of SIPRO COMMUNITY HUB. On July 11th I will be taking on a massive charity challenge of trying to complete 500 rounds in the gym to raise vital funds for former England boxer and respected boxing coach Tony Cesay who is now facing his biggest fight of Motor Neurone Disease.
Tony was always smiling and always helping others and I’m hoping to raise £2000 towards his costs of care that he will need as this incurable disease takes its toll.
I’ve done a few fundraisers before but this will be my hardest by far. Aiming to complete 500 x 2 min rounds with 30 seconds rest in 24 hours. I’ve no idea whether I can physically complete it in the time but if not I will keep going until the job is done. As tough as this will be it is nothing compared to the fight Tony has every day and every contribution will help make my task that much easier. If we make over the target we will put towards the cost of fitting a disabled toilet in the gym so that others who are less able can enjoy the sport Tony dedicated his life to. As a community Hub we want to be able to offer as many diverse and free classes to community projects who otherwise wouldn’t be able to participate. Boxing is my life and has always been Tony’s life and I’m proud to be able to do my bit over 500 rounds of bags , pads , sparring and conditioning to help his life become a bit more comfortable.
I realise times are hard but please donate anything you can to this special cause! Thankyou
