Hi, my name is Mehdi Saleki, and I am a documentary filmmaker from Sweden.

When I learned about the plight of stray dogs in Iran, I felt compelled to create a fair and impartial documentary on the subject. I conducted extensive research and gathered a substantial amount of information about the issue.

The problem of stray dogs in Iran has long been accompanied by misunderstanding, neglect, and violence. This documentary represents the first comprehensive attempt to document and analyze this social and cultural issue from multiple perspectives. My goal is to go beyond simply presenting heartbreaking images—I aim to explore the cultural, religious, scientific, and social roots of the problem and offer potential solutions.

Creating such a documentary in a context where many animal rights activists face pressure and threats is a brave and significant undertaking. I believe this film can mark the beginning of a deeper conversation—not only within Iran, but across the entire region.
