For (give) Me premiered this fall at Theater for the New City during the Dream Up! Festival. A show about trauma and healing, this work seeks to connect audiences of all ages and walks of life to bring us all to the conclusion of hope.
By incorporating contemporary dance, contact improvisation, physical theater and aerial acrobatics, Solaris aims to create a unique quality of movement that guides an experience like no other. During creation, the individuality of each artist is embraced and celebrated, laying the foundation for a healthy process and discovery. With this approach, For (give) Me becomes a devised work that gives the artists involved an opportunity to explore a personal connection to an abstract idea, as well as a physical place to share it.
Circus Solaris is excited to expand this endeavor into an outdoor series this summer with your help.
Currently, we are preparing to do it again at the Muse Brooklyn this February 23rd and 24th. The space is much bigger, meaning our vision is much bigger, meaning our cost is much bigger.
This means we are sourcing our own props and building the set from scratch, hoping to create larger scaled installations this time around. This means we are covering all of the rehearsal and production costs, in addition to performing our hearts out. We want to share with you what we have been working on.
