I have a strong history of Alzheimer’s in my family. I have always had a nurturing spirit, so there’s no surprise that I was a Certified Nurse Aide for three years and have been a Registered Nurse for seven years. I love taking care of the elderly and helping their families while they transition. I have been told that I have the characteristics needed to comfort people in the worst time of their lives; mainly empathy and compassion.

It has been on my heart to create a place where a family can get together comfortably with their loved one, a hospice home. Like an Air B & B for the dying. For people who can’t take their loved one to their own home, for whatever reason, they can rent out mine. They have a place to sleep, shower and have meals with their loved one in the next room.

The idea evolved into providing a home for long term care as well as hospice. A place that feels like a home, not a facility; where caregivers feel like family. I want to buy a home that has the capacity for 6 patients. I would have 2 long term care, 1 space for a respite resident and a space for a day care resident. The other room would be for staff and an office. I want to also purchase the property the property as well.

I completed the master’s in Business Management degree program at Western Governors University. I know that if I applied to work as the administrator at a home, they would want me to have some type of business schooling; so why not put the same qualification on my own business? All while taking care of my mother who is in the early stages of dementia and working as a night shift ICU Nurse.
