Dear family and friends,

My name is Holly the daughter of Phat Sam. I am creating this fundraiser today to inform you of the great loss of my beloved father Phat Sam. My fathers passing was unexpected and it all happened so fast, we were blind sided. My father passed away This morning on August 3rd, 2023 eastern time zone. The man was working tirelessly day in and day out on his house and land. He then became ill and within a few weeks he passed. He was not able to eat for several days; he drastically loss weight and became weak. His health declined rapidly even with medical attention. My father lived in the countryside of Cambodia, the medical team there was not as advanced as the team in the city. As my dad was being transported to the hospital in the city he was becoming more ill, when he arrived at the hospital he had already passed.

As some of you may know my father was deported to Cambodia due to a senseless crime in his younger years. He resided in California prior to deportation, he was respected and well known by so many people in the community. He was a popular man because he was so much of a people person with a great personality, that people clung onto to him naturally. Not only my father was a great person he was an all around amazing father, he raised my sisters and I alone through many struggles. Regardless of the obstacles that stood in his way, he made sure his children we well taken care of. Even being in Cambodia he never gave up on life, he made the best out of his situation.

My family and I are so devastated by the sudden death of my father. We are starting this fundraiser in hopes to receive donations to cover the cost of my fathers funeral. We had no idea how fast he would leave us, because of that anyone could imagine we were not financially prepared for such a tragic loss. Please consider donating if you are able to do so.
