Hi my name is Adrienne,
I never imagined I’d be in this place again, reaching out for help. It’s been eight years since we lost my oldest son Isiah, and just when we thought our hearts couldn’t break any more, tragedy struck our family again. This past Sunday, during a small gathering, we lost two more incredible young men to senseless gun violence: Noah Collins, my 25-year-old son, also known to many as Nino the Barber, and his younger brother, Devondre "Dre" Collins, who was just 19.
Noah was the kind of guy who lit up a room. He started his barber business right out of high school and made a name for himself with his big heart and even bigger smile. Dre had just finished high school and was figuring out his next steps, full of potential and dreams. They were supposed to have their whole lives ahead of them.
The dinner, meant to be a quiet moment to honor Isiah’s memory on his birthday, turned into a tragic scene of loss and sorrow, reminding us of the pain we felt eight years ago. Alongside Noah and Dre, two more loved ones were critically injured: Noah’s girlfriend's mom and another family friend. Now, we’re left with the unimaginable task of saying goodbye to not one, but two more sons.
The financial and emotional toll of arranging funerals and coping with this loss is overwhelming. That’s why I’m here, asking for your help. Any support you can offer will go directly to giving Noah the farewell he deserves, with anything extra being set aside for Noah Jr., who now has to grow up without his dad and uncle.
This request is about more than just financial help; it’s about coming together, sharing a bit of kindness and compassion in our darkest hours. If you can donate, or even just share this message, we’d be so grateful. We want to celebrate Noah and Dre’s lives, not just mourn their loss.
Thank you for taking the time to read this, for considering helping us, and for keeping us in your thoughts. It means everything to us right now.
With heartfelt thanks,
Adrienne - A Mom Trying to Hold Her Family Together.
