Forest Fire Tragically took 3 family homes.
Donation protected
My name is Delayne Dixon, and today I am using my platform for something a little different.
As the forest fires of BC tragically takes the homes of the ones we love, we don't really know the impact until it happens to your own family.
5 members of our family have lost their homes in the Squilax fire. 3 homes total.
Bonnie Deleeuw - Robs mother
Viola Deleeuw - Rob's grandmother, 81, who has terminal cancer on top of all things.
Micheal Deleeuw - Rob's uncle, who is on disability.
Jamie and Rhonda Deleeuw - Rob's uncle and auntie.
For Rob and I, this was an area we visited often, it was a sanctuary for our mental health, and a place where Rob grew up. Many thanksgivings and family get togethers were hosted there.
It's with a very broken heart that I write that all memories and belongings are gone, along with the chickens and a neighbourhood cat that we could not save in time.
In these moments all we can do is count our blessings, practice gratitude, and lean on our community to help us heal and rebuild. Thank you for your compassion, any and all donations are excepted. If you do not have PayPal or need an alternate way to donate - please don't hesitate to contact me.
What's important is our family is safe.
