*** PLEASE, IF YOU CAN, SHARE MY STORY SO I CAN GET MORE SUPPORT. THANK YOU SO MUCH!!***
We all struggle in our lives don’t we? It’s inevitable. It’s beautiful. It creates strength. It moves us all. There was never a question in my mind of whether to give up grad school and take care of my brother’s children. Not even a doubt. There were many ups and downs and a time where I thought I may never get my life back. I knew I was going to be a single mom for the rest of my life. Through all the turmoil I’ve come out the other side with an opportunity that I’ll never have in this lifetime. After a few years of giving so much for my family I have spent some time and figured out how to start again.
In the next three months I’m leaving the country. I’m going to Thailand to learn how to be an ESL teacher (English as a second language). It’s perfect. I’ll be leaving the country to have a chance to see the world, to take a breath and grow and change for the better, to have a chance at making a decent living for the rest of my life and to continue teaching and bringing knowledge to those around me who need it. I want to experience change and create change and here’s my opportunity. And following this dream will give the ability to come back and better serve my community and family.
In taking on this project I need to raise money to pay for the program, which is $2500 alone, and have enough money to live on while I’m getting this training. I’m already 75% of the way to saving enough to pay for the thousand dollar plane ticket and I have a plan to cover the work that needs to be done on my house to go. This is the only missing piece. I try hard not to ask for help unless I need it. So here I am. (Edit: As of my birthday 4/23 from all the overtime worked I was able to put away 100% of the plane ticket. Getting closerrr!!!)
My promise to you is to keep you updated on my adventures. Pictures and words galore will be sprinkled for the entire endeavor. I want to connect and share with you what I’m doing. I want to give you eyes for what I see and experience. I want to inspire you to go after what you want in your own life. In lieu of birthday presents (April 23rd, though it will be open later than that) I’m asking for your help. Every bit brings me closer to running full force to what this life has for me. And I’ll be grateful for all of it, especially you.
