I am SANAM SUHAINI HUSSAIN son of Zakir Hussain from Bangladesh. I was very fond of music from my days in hoikuen (kindergarten) in Japan where I was born. Since then music became a part of who I am. That was why I started to study Music Performance in Guitar in McNally Smith College of Music in Minnesota, USA in January 2015.
After 2 years of studying guitar at McNally Smith I switched majors to Music Production. In the last semester of December 2017 they gave us 1 week notice that the college was suddenly closing permanently due to its own financial crisis. My dream was shattered just 2 years before finishing my Bachelors degree.
My parents and I were devastated as we lost 2 years investment of money and very valuable time. In January 2018 my father had a heart attack and had Cardiac Bypass surgery. This put a strain on all the family. Still I was determined to continue my education in a similar discipline and did not return home.
Although it was a huge burden, my parents somehow managed it by selling their properties and taking various types of loans (conventional & non-conventional) for my education.
In 2018 I got admitted to the Institute Of Production & Recording – college of creative arts . I finished my Associate in Applied Science degree in Sound Design for Visual Media & also in Audio Production & Recording in March 2019. Now I am pursuing my Bachelors degree in Fine Arts in Digital video & Media Production. My tentative graduation date is June, 2021.
But my dream is again going to be broken by the unexpected events of COVID-19. It has affected my life in Minnesota and my parents back home in Bangladesh. My father’s income has now just squeezed to almost 1/10th due to this coronavirus situation, as my father cannot attend his work, being a high risk person with heart disease, asthma & diabetes. I’m greatly concerned about my father’s health due to COVID -19 and also apprehending whether he can absorb the trauma if my bachelors remain unfinished even after 5 years of our hardiest effort.
It is a huge burden for my family as I cannot work out of campus and by no way can I contribute to my expenditure nor can we get any kind of bank loan. I need help to finish my Bachelor’s degree which is at the verge of completion. I am a foreign student trying to finish school in the middle of Corona Virus. I feel almost stranded in USA.
I need to pay 2020 - 2021 college expenses (tuition, room and board, books and supplies, transport and others) for USD 35,000 which my parents are unable to provide nor can I earn it on a student visa. I am desperately seeking any kind of
HELP
from anyone at home & abroad.
Best Regards
