Chris Peters—the best father, husband, son, and friend anyone could ever have—passed on Christmas Day, 2023. His friends were always his extended family and we're honored to have the privilege of managing this fundraiser for his wife Gina, so that she and their fantastic daughter Caroline can get the help they need after his passing.
Chris's life was one of joy through giving joy to others. His parents, Mark and Karen, have endless stories of his childhood and teenage years where their house was filled with laughter and love thanks to Chris's lifelong obsession with making certain as many people as possible were having as much fun as possible wherever and whenever he could manage it. Many a game night was organized and carried off flawlessly, and that tradition carried all the way up through the entirety of the rest of his life. There's no telling how much less rich all of our lives would have been if Chris hadn't pulled us in through the gravity of his giving spirit. We'll all be forever trapped in his orbit together and endlessly grateful for it.
Even these last three years where his cancer created huge, impossible obstacles this fundamental core of who Chris was never abated. Even in his final moments he was concerned for others before himself, found ways to laugh with his family and friends, and always wanted to hear about what was going on in our lives. Life, for Chris, was about sharing himself and through that it inspired us to share ourselves with him and with each other. In that spirit we're hoping here to return the favor; though it will forever be inadequate to who and what he gave to all of us.
While these last three years were the roughest, cancer was a part of his and his family's life since 2015. As you can imagine, it took an enormous toll on his family emotionally, but also financially. His parents, his wife, and his wife's parents all contributed tens of thousands of hours and massively more in financial obligations to give Chris the best possible shot at continuing his journey on this planet, all so the rest of us could have just one more year, one more week, and then just one more day where we could acknowledge the privilege of having him as part of our lives. We're asking, now, that you give what you can to help his wife and young daughter carry on without being saddled with unnecessary financial burdens that no family should have to deal with or think about after losing a father, husband, or son.
Even if all you have to spare is 50 cents to leave a message on this page, everyone, especially his wife and daughter, will be so very grateful to know that you care and are thinking of them and maybe some day can return to this page to remind themselves of just how many lives his generosity touched.
To Chris's family, extended, found, and everything in between, we give all our love, always.
