Hello, my name is Jodi, and I’d like to share my story with you and explain why I am asking for your support.

On July 3rd, 2023, my daughter and I were involved in a serious accident when we were struck by a semi-truck on a major highway. Since then, my life has been filled with unexpected challenges and medical complications. For a long time, I managed to push through and stay strong—but in September 2024, I was faced with my most difficult battle yet: a Deep Vein Thrombosis (DVT) blood clot.

What I initially believed would be manageable has become overwhelming. The pain is constant, and even simple movements have turned into daily struggles. Walking, something I once loved, is no longer possible, and restful sleep has become impossible due to the sensitivity and pain in my foot.

Despite seeking help through hospitals, emergency rooms, urgent care, and walk-in clinics, I have not received the treatment I need. I’ve been on blood thinners for over a year, yet my clot has grown from 5 cm to 7.5 cm in length. The only real solution left for me is surgery—something our healthcare system has not been able to provide. Unfortunately, this means I have to pursue private care, which comes with a cost of $5,400.

This is not an easy step for me. I never imagined I would have to ask for help in this way. But after exhausting every other option, I am reaching out with humility and hope.
