Lizzie in Durham, a disabled NHS nurse, has been removing her own teeth for the last eight years.
Monica, a pensioner who cannot find an NHS dentist or afford private dental work, only has "one remaining chewing tooth, which is now loose."
Marquita from Cornwall told us that although pulling your own teeth out is painful, feeling like you can't even smile any more hurts even worse.
Enough is enough! A decade of cuts has left a £1.5 billion funding gap. Current funding is only enough for half the population to get an NHS dentist - and the rest, like Lizzie, Monica and Marquita, are left to suffer.
So here’s our plan to fix this.
On 26th November the Government will announce its big Autumn spending decisions. It’s up to us - the British public - to force them to use this budget to fund desperately needed NHS dentistry.
We’re sprinting to pull off a huge stunt: a fake ‘DIY Dentistry’ van driving round Westminster offering to pull out peoples’ teeth if they can’t get an NHS dentist. But we’ve got just days to make it happen – and we need your help to cover the costs.
Please, will you chip in to help save NHS dentistry?
Not convinced yet? Read on for more information about why this could work…
We know stunts work - they get our demands in the papers, on national TV and in front of powerful Ministers. It's why we've beamed huge projections on the houses of Parliament demanding Elon Musk butt out of UK politics:
...welcomed convicted felon Donald Trump to Britain with a town crier,
...and handed out sewage ice cream to protest the polluting of our seas and rivers by out of control water companies!
...with your help, this stunt could be our biggest yet!
But an impactful stunt costs money - we're hiring a van, printing our fake business on it, paying an actor to play our DIY dentist, and making sure we can film it all. A donation of any size will help us make this moment bigger, louder and even more impactful - and make the Government finally listen to the people's demands.
Together we can save NHS dentistry!
